Typically found in the Alpine regions of France, Switzerland, and Germany, Tourte de Seigle is a traditional, rustic loaf made with 100% Whole Rye Flour. It has a hearty crust and soft, dense interior. This bread is highly aromatic with hints of dark chocolate, coffee and malt. It has an earthy, robust flavor that will keep you coming back for more.
Our Tourte de Seigle is crafted with 100% Whole-Grain Organic Rye locally milled by Carolina Ground in Hendersonville, NC.
This is a large loaf- coming in at just under 1.5kg - but it will stay fresh for up to two weeks due to rye's unique ability to retain moisture. This bread is the perfect accompaniment to a hearty winter soup or stew or simply eaten on its own with a strong cheese or cultured butter.
Ingredients: Organic Whole Rye Flour, Filtered Water, Sea Salt.
